Why you should always plant sunflowers in your garden?

🐝Sunflowers are very beneficial to have in your garden. They attract bees and what do bees do? They pollinate. So, if you have a squash, tomatoes or eggplants growing in your garden you need bees for pollination. Plant sunflowers and the bees will be able to see them over far distance and they will be attracted to your garden. They will go to the sunflowers and then they will pollinate the rest of your garden as well.

It also helps the bees to gather a lot of nectar and pollen from these sunflowers. This helps the bees to build their colonies and thrive as well. We must protect the bees.🐝

🐞Sunflowers are a catch crop, and you know what a catch crop is? Catch crop is a crop that you grow that attracts all the pests, so they pull all the pests away from your garden. Sunflowers produce a lot of nectar and dew, and aphids in particular are attracted to sunflowers. So, whenever I plant sunflowers in my garden, I don't have many problems with it. All the aphids are drawn to the sunflowers and you know what happens next the ladybirds come in.🐞

Sunflowers attract other beneficial insects as well like bumblebees, hoverflies and lacewings which feed on aphids and whiteflies.

It's a win-win!

Sunflower Seeds

I absolutely love sunflower seeds. They are a source of many vitamins and minerals that can support your immune system and increase your ability to fight off viruses.

They are good source of fiber, iron, vitamin E and phosphorous. Minerals in sunflower seeds include copper, magnesium , phosphorous, manganese and selenium and smaller amounts of zinc, iron, and potassium.

They make a healthy snack and are great additions to salads and other simple dishes.

🦜Sunflower seeds are a favorite treat to many many parrots across the globe. Have you got a parrot? You can feed your lovely pet with them sparingly. Sunflower seeds have earned a reputation for being the junk-food of the bird world. This is because sunflower seeds are high in fat.

Alternatively, leave the sunflower heads in your garden to feed garden birds.🦜
